every summer my yard becomes overrun with purslane. I’m currently pulling out by hand as now have chickens I don’t wish to use poison. Any ideas whether or not it’s ok for the chickens to eat? Is there a easy way to get rid of it or a chicken friendly weed spray or anything similar? All advice greatly appreciated. Trying to do best for my babies

I have googled in meantime and yes it’s edible for humans and chickens as long as not in high doses. As they’re babies I will remove the purslane this time and hopefully once they’re matured and it’s starts to come back they’ll have a wonderful time peckin away.

You may have to partially protect the plants, otherwise the chickens will eat is back too far for recovery from grazing.

That’s fine. I do not wish to have them in my yard. Usually I poison them and they always come back every summer like crazy so if the chickens wish to destroy them I’m quite alright with that
