can someone please tell me what this is? The first pic is of her healthy eye, and the second one is in bad shape. I just noticed this today but she must have been this way long enough to have her feathers start to grow back around her eye. Her entire eye area is really swollen and there is like a bubbly puss oozing from the corner. Is this just an inflammation from an attack from another hen? Is it a virus? I have noticed her and another hen going at it lately and she's usually the one that backs off. I haven't had this happen to my hens before.
She is a 2 year old Auracana, she is acting fine and eating well, still laying eggs, doesn't really seem affected by this, which is why I didn't notice sooner.

anything that could poke her in the pen? Have any hens been fighting with her? Is it scratched? Is something in it? A feather maybe? I would trim the feathers around her eye to see if that helps. Also separate her in a run or cage or this could get ugly fast. The others might peck her. I’m not sure about virus.

It could be from a peck to the eye or symptom of respiratory illness like Mycoplasma. Have you noticed any wheezing, sneezing or coughing?

General care for the eye would be to flush with saline and apply an ophthalmic ointment like Terramycin.
See that she is eating and drinking well.

That appears to be a symptom of a respiratory illness as @Wyorp Rock mentioned. Sometimes the Mycoplasma bacteria will affect just one eye like that. I would also treat with Tylan. Either Tylan 50 or 200.
