Hi until last week I had 2 stags (1 dominant) and 1 bronze hen)
A fox got the largest stag, and the remaining male is terrified, staying on the roost almost every day.
Can I put him with the hen who is in a separate pen with her 4 week old poults? or will he hurt them.
There is plenty of space in the pen, both outside and in

You can try it and keep an eye on them. Some toms can be a doting parent but they can all turn very quickly for unknown reasons. Don't be surprised if the hen attacks the tom to keep him away from the poults.

Thanks for that I will give it a try, he's always been pretty docile, but the hen who used to be terribly bullied by our guinea fowl is now very protective, and has attacked me a few times lately. Will give it a try tomorrow

That will depend on your area. The hens age. I would say probably. My hens are nearing the end of their laying cycle.

Mine started laying back within a couple of weeks after brooding. But they lost their poults.

Hi ...I am in West Wales UK...good news , when I put the Tom back in, I put the nest back where she brooded last time, and I have 4 eggs...last time she was laying everywhere, and sat on 21 eggs in the end...only 7 hatched , more hopeful this time
