Heres another one of my lovely who do I stick with who questions, so far this summer I have hatched quite a few bantam cochins, I've ended up with a white frizzle rooster and a smooth hen, so naturally their goin together( however i noticed how good one of the smooth white roosters are looking so Im tempted to keep him as well). I ended up also with 2 lavender hens but no roo!! I have 2 black frizzle hens and I am goin to put a black smooth with them. which leaves me with the lavenders with no "man" I've got a black frizzle roo that seems to be mixed with a birchen he has silver feathers on his neck, the white roo, and some mottled roo's which would be the best to put with the lavenders and what would I get from those combo's?? I'd like to have a lavender roo but I dont want to incubate any more right now.

The best rooster would be the smooth black because that will give you all black chicks carrying lavender. The white and mottled should also give you all phenotypic black chicks, although with white its possible some funky colors will pop up and all the mottled chicks will be carrying mottled and lavender. I would not use the birchen looking rooster just because thats going to muddy things up.

I use both white and blacks with my lavenders and have never had any problems. Since lavender is recessive all the f1 will be black with possibly some brown in the wings. When bred together or with other lavenders a percentage of the chicks will be all lavender.

heres some pic's of the chickens in question

I would put the black frizzle hens AND the lavender hens in with the black smooth rooster.

That way you would get black frizzles, and split black lavenders.
