putting 3 day chick under broody

How successful would I be putting a 3 day old lone chick I hatched in an incubator under a broody hen sitting on 4 eggs which I think will hatch in 5 days/

You wont know until you try. My experience has been the hen will quit setting shortly after introducing the chick.

I think it will confuse her into thinking that the eggs are no good, and she will just pay attention to the chicks.
Which is more inportant to you? if you really want those eggs to hatch...
Or, if that does happen, put the eggs, if she abandons them, in the bator, and retry in 5 days to get the whole family back together.
