Putting chickens into the coop 1st time. Have a question

What time of the day is a good time to move the chickens from the garage to their coop. We just finished the pen so I need to put down the bedding etc. Is it better to do this in the morning or the evening.Only have 2 hens and 1 rooster.

Best times are either in the evening after they have eaten or at night when it's completely dark.

Just put the three in the coop. The rooster isn't crowing yet. They have food and water.

Anytime is fine. I like to check on everyone a couple of times, so wouldn't wait until dark. Introducing new birds to an existing flock is totally different. Mary

I introduce my chickens to their new surroundings during the day. That gives them a chance to check it out, learn where food and water is, and generally become comfortable with their new digs before going to roost. I've not had any problems doing it that way.
