Putting chicks under a broody

So true. The last thing my husband said to me before bed was "no more birds this year, please". I couldn't agree more, it's gotten a little out of control.

Regarding integrating the small ones, my plan was to get that started when they're about a week old. My coop is way overdue for a spring cleaning and I want to get that done first. The last time I integrated youngsters I waited until they were older and it was bloody and took forever. There were reasons I waited with that crowd but I don't have the same constraints here. I'm hoping getting started when they're younger makes this easier. Plus, I have a 3 week old chick that was hatched out there and I'm curious if that would ease the transition at all. But yes, that's on my near future radar.
