So I thought I was seeing some weird stool in the coop. Cleaned everything out and got some Corid. I have a 5 gallon water. I filled it with about 3 gallons and put in the appropriate amount of liquid Corid. Do you think this is sufficient?

Welcome To BYC:welcome

Do you have photos of the chicks and poop?

Are any of your chicks acting sick, lethargic, puffed up, not eating/drinking, etc.?

Corid is used to treat Coccidiosis, so if that's what you think is wrong, then yes, adding it to their water is a good idea.

For 3 gallons of water, you would use 6 teaspoons of Liquid Corid (2tsp per gallon). Offer as the only source of drinking water for 5-7 days.

Thank you so much for your reply. I’ve attached a picture. I remember a YouTube saying that it can look like little pieces of hamburger? However I haven’t seen any more like this this morning… discovered it yesterday evening.. no I’m not sure if it’s from the chickens or could it be from another animal like a squirrel or a bird? Either way I have treated them. None of the birds are acting lethargic; however, one has some loss of feathers around her comb.. And otherwise looks a little thin.

How old are your chickens? I would treat for coccidiosis as well. Just mix enough water for 24 hours and refill in a clean waterer each day for 5-7 days. Worms can also cause blood in the poop. If your vet will do a fecal float on some combined collected fresh droppings, that would confirm coccidiosis or worms.
