x2 completely agree. While it may seem violent beheading or slitting the throat are the quickest ways to go. With beheading, as long as you do it in one cut, death is completely instant. If you cut the main artery in the neck they bleed out in secs. Very very fast. Snapping the neck is also a good option. I personally feel nervous doing that and think that you should go with what you feel confident doing. All of the "putting them to sleep" with CO2 methods seem like they are more to comfort the people than to be kind to the chicken and when it goes wrong it goes very wrong.
