Putting duck eggs under setting chicken

Has anyone done this? My hen has started setting again, and there are duck eggs from my ducks over by the pond that they aren't sitting on. Would it work to uxe the hen to hen to hatch ducklings?

What are the cons? Is there a similar incubation period?

You can use hens to hatch duck eggs, but they take longer... 28 days versus 21. So you can't mix chicken and duck eggs, unless you start her on the duck eggs a week early.

Be sure that she's in good health before giving her the duck eggs. Hot and dry summer weather can really take a toll on setting hens.
