Putting mulch in chicken run

I am thinking about buying untreated flower bed mulch and putting it in the chicken run. Any cons? I don’t see mulch talked about a ton.

The kind that is made of wood chips or wood shreds or chunks of bark? That should be fine.

Try looking for threads about "wood chips" if you want to find people talking about similar stuff.

Some people really like using wood chip mulch in their chicken runs. Many of them get it by the truckload from tree-trimming services, which is cheaper than some other ways of getting it.

Should work OK, depending on the size of the pieces.
The coarser it is the longer it will last.

I have land to store large pile from a tree trimmer and add thin layers to run from scraping the outside of the pile, which deters toxic mold blooms.
