Hi all! Im in the process of putting together my chick order for this spring. I am ordering 3 or 4 Rouen ducks, and 10 chickens. I have narrowed it down to wyandottes deffanantly, but Im debating on Buff orpingtons or Barred Rocks. I think i will stick with the rocks, because every Orpington roo I have had was agressave

and I have only had one agressave Rock roo. I would love your oppinions or solutions.

Ok, well I have a Buff Orphington and she's one of my best egg-layers. And I'm getting more this year. I suggest The Buff Orphingtons. And Barred Rocks... hmm I never owned one so I don't know abou them.

I have a Buff orpington hen and she's one of the friendliest of my flock and also one of the best layer, plus she lays a really light brown eggs. And Barred rocks in my experienece are not really friendly but they sure add a lot of color to any flock. Becareful when ordering straighjt run tho as I've heard from some people who got almost all roos.

Oh and btw, great choice on ducks, Rouens are beautiful to look at, and as opposed to what a lot of articles about them say, they are extremelly good layers I get about 6 to 7 eggs a week from each. Plus they lay 2 different color of eggs, I have 2 one lays green and the other one lays white!!!

I have had great experince with this hatchery, I orderd 5 Barred rocks last year and there was 1 roo LOL. I also orderd one runner and it was a girl... I have had those years where I only get 1 or two pulletts of a breed but they have all been from diffrent hatcherys (In fact, those years I chose the chicks at TSC)...
I dont know much about rouen ducks. I know they look like mallards but they are the size of a pekin. I had two when I first started out about six years ago but we had to give them away... they were both female

Im hoping for at least one female and one male so I can get chicks out of them.
