I have 5 BRs.
Y'day (8/15/10) I got two eggs at about 10 AM.
Then I got another egg at about 11 AM.
All three are good eggs in the nest boxes.
Nothing later in that day (as of 8 PM).

This morning 7 AM (8/16/10), I found two thin shell
eggs on the floor (below roost area).

We got our first egg last Sunday and are getting 2 or 3 eggs per day since then.
But I only found two thin shells middle of the week and then today.

Based on the 26 hour cycle, I am thinking, todays thin shells cannot be
from the 3 hens y'day. Going by that theory, all 5 are laying, but only
3 are giving hard shell eggs and two are dropping thin shells under the roost
or outside somewhere (they freerange).

Any other possibilities ?

Sounds like a good theory to me.
Although chickens do like to make fools of us.

Don't expect every hen to lay everyday, and it sounds like they are young. Hopefully they will work out the kinks and you'll be getting all hard shelled.
