Hi all. I have a runner duck egg well past hatch day. Now would be day 33.
I saw it wobbling and moving when candling until day 28. But it went still and had a day 20 size small air cell at that time. I'd given up on it as there are no signs of life for 4 or 5 days.
I was going to chuck it tonight but candled for a last time. The air cell has grown a fair bit but is kind of saddle shaped. Still no movement. It smells fine. Would the air cell grow like this with a dead duckling inside? Not sure what to do. I'd just leave it and wait to see but I'm using the incubator to house a sickly duckling and dont want to risk an explosion.
I should point out conditions have not been ideal. It's a home made incy after my brinsea broke a week in... eek... so hardly stable conditions.
Thanks to anyone with a viewpoint, I appreciate any thoughts!
