PVC coated hardware cloth?

Has anyone used the pvc coated hardware cloth for their outdoor run? I've seen where people will paint their hardware cloth black and thought this would be a good step saver.

No but I've dealt with pvc coated wire in other contexts. It cracks, splits, and chips off making a mess of small plastic pieces as well as holding water against the wire. Since the wire isn't galvanized and water is held against it, it rusts.

Painting is an easy step.
