You can get stainless steel zip ties--those will resist just about anything. Got mine at Lowe's. I would not use that cheap netting, though--any predator can get through that in minutes. Go with woven wire or heavy-duty hardware cloth.

I made mine at the end of March 2011 (this year) and have been using it since.
I drag it around the yard now to move my little Seramas around to new foraging locations.
So it's sort of become my chicken tractor (except the Seramas sleep inside the coop at night).
My larger birds will often times roost on the PVC posts, but it doesn't seem to bother the Seramas at all.
I didn't bother cutting the zip ties to make it look neater or anything. I did cut the ties on the bottom for ease of mobility.
