My water is on other side not near. No ducks. I am still using crumble/ chick feed as my girls are only 14 weeks. It is open under the run with no roof that could be the problem...Looks like its glued up fine - I'm here in the FL Pandandle (inches of rain in the past 24 hours), haven't glued mine (thinner wall, too - i used 4" DWV for septic lines), and having no issues. Of course, mine is (just) in the hen house, so covered by a roof.
Your only moisture entry spots are the open bottom, and the screw on top (I have caps, but don't use them). Most likely, the water is coming in the bottom when it falls from the sky- its an issue with that feeder design, which is why the open end is often oriented under the hen house or some other weather protected space.
If its getting clumped w/o rain, then dew condensation is the only other potential source - you don't have a waterer nearby, and didn't mention ducks. I wonder if you are using crumble? I had concerns about that in my 90+% humidity, so i use pellet. No issues, apart from the slightly higher expense of pellet, due to the brands my local stores carry.
Thank you! I will try that.Your hen house is up on blocks. Humor me, pull your feeder down, and quick attach it to your house with some straps, the mouth pointing under the house at something like its current height. Give it a week, get back to us on how it works.
Assuming it does, just relocate it on the outside of your run mouth under house as it is currently oriented, and you can continue to fill from the outside of the run. And if it doesn't work, you haven't cut another hole in your predator protection, we'll figure something else out.
