I see a lot of great pics, and I am trying to think of what would be best for a feeder for midget white turkeys, does anyone have exp with the homemade 5 gallon bucket feeder and pvc feeder and have any pics on what they made and what they really liked and seen least food waist? Also if pvc feeder, how many would you make and size for 10-20 turkeys

also any easy to make waters, right now I have some from TSC but just thinking what I can make for 10-20 turkeys for waters

Thanks guys

Larry

nice and simple, where did you buy such a big pan for the bottom? I am gonna try some 5 gallon waters also with 4 nipples in each 1... Just trying to figure where I can hang all of this unless I go the pvc style water as it would take up a lot less space. I am told they are great but since the birds are 8 weeks to 1 week old and not use to it, it will take some time for them to learn to use it and count on it, but once they do it will be clean water for them without there pine shavings getting into it or it spilling when its suspended up in the air.

To push the feed in the bucket of that sort, I used a plastic bowl inverted in the bottom of the bucket. It just sits in place when the feed is added. Some sort of cone arrangement might work better, but this is good enough.

I got the pan at Big R and the weight of the feed pushes it out. As they eat more comes out. I have it set 1 3/4'' up off the pan floor. You can adjust it to how deep you want it in the feeder. This height seems to work well. I left a cross on the bottom of the bucket to add strength, as its plastic. I kind of copied a 20 year old k line feeder I bought (20 years ago). I think they are out of business now. I can't find them on the internet. It also has a large size pan on it. I actually still use it for my 5 turkeys. I made the bucket one for my chickens. I like that the bucket has a lid to keep the yuck out. This only took me like 15 minutes to make. I may make another one just to have...you never know when you might need another feeding station! Ha!

This is what I water with.....I have 2 4x4's under it to raise it up to back level. I LOVE this thing!!!! Never run out of water. I bleed out the hose everyday and rinse it out. I made this wire box to keep any spillage contained.
