Not looking to argue with you just making a statement. I have not heard this before. We always use mineral blocks and have never had any problems.

Thorny Ridge Is it really that important for goats to have a seperate shelter? I did make my goats a seperate shelter, but they actually prefer the chicken coop!! I can't get them to even go in their goat mansion, instead they head for the coop and the company of the birds. They have habitual sleeping arrangement at the back of the coop in their very own little corner bedded down in the hay. My doe just kidded in there last week! Oh, and my coop is cleaned on a regular basis, so the thing about the smelly nasty coop, is not an issue. Smelly and nasty coops are indicative of not doing the work that needs to be done in my opinion. When I was sick...it got a little funky, but no other time have I had odor issues or poop build up even in the summer time. But, I am new to all the animals myself, only been keeping for a year, all of the babies seem so happy! Oh but I totally agree with getting two...made that mistake at first for about 2 weeks, Daisy kept baaaing incessantly and I looked it up, and got her 3 friends the following week, she stopped and has been a happy little goat since.

Not wanting to be mean but you have not done your homework about raising goats... there are so many things to learn BEFORE going out and purchasing a goat. People that are not well informed ahead of time get in trouble raising goats. Storeys Guide To Raising Goats is a great book for the beginner and is sold in Tractor Supply and you might get a used one on Amazon. All the best and good luck.

I'm trying not to say anything. But really. Please don't get this goat. Learn about them BEFORE you get a pet.
