I'm considering purchasing 2 female pygmy goats. I know NOTHING about owning goats, so I'm doing my research now. We live in Hawaii, so we never had really bad weather. What sort of structure do I need for the goats? We live on the top of a mountain and our backyard borders conservation land. We would let them graze on a tether in the conservation land. Tethers can be dangerous with goats. You will need at least a 3 sided shelter to get out of the rain and good fencing as goats can be hard to keep fenced until you figure them out.

I had 2 pygmy goats.
I sold them though. Everytime I would go out to feed my animals the Male goat would come over and try to get the food, he would take is horns and try to stick them in my legs.
The female goat after a while started to get annoying and aggressive too.
Oh, They were escaping artists..........
The female could squeeze through a hole the size of a quarter.

Goats need good fences and a dry shelter. They do not tolerate getting wet very well. I personally would suggest you have the horns removed, but that is my opinion. Some people love horns but I hate them. They get caught in fences and horned goats can injure both you and each other either intentionally or by accident. Unless you intend to breed them, get the males castrated.
