Quai eggs in the bator..general question!

I have cotrunix quail eggs in the bator. They are teeny teeny teeny compared to chicken eggs.. And I wanted to see if I could candle them. The brinsea temp is 100.5 but when I picked up an egg it didn't feel very warm to me.. is it because they are so small? A chicken egg feels warm but it is heavy and big, but those quail eggs are so small.. and it's hard to feel a temp on them, they feel warm but not warm enough? Am I making sense? I hope other quailers have noticed this.. unless both thermometers in mine are broken..

Don't worry as long as your hovering around 100 your fine
They may not feel warm to the touch because your temp is close to that and as you said they are smaller than a chickens
You feel that warm from the chicken because of the size

thank you sir! I feel much better now. BTW I couldn't see much in the candling of two eggs, except an airspace an that's all..

Pretty sure they are duds
No shadowing at all then they are
They dont take long to shadow

I mean I couldn't see anything.. they were way dark. All I could see is the airspace on one of em. i hope there is a few in there!

oh yea coturnix are hard to see through
I would let them ride you did see a pocket so they could still be good
Thats one reason i dont really candle eggs

Definitely let them ride!
Coturnix eggs are very hard to candle. If they light up like a Christmas tree, then they are dead, but if you see shadows, veins, or next to nothing, then they can hatch.
At 10 days, and you see shadows or little light in the egg, it's probably good to go.

Ahh I can breathe now... Yes very hard to candle... i cant see into any of em.. afraid to pick them up they are soooo freekin' tiny lol
We will see soon if they hatch!
