Quail’s eye

I didn’t notice this until today, but one of my quail’s eyes seem weird? Anyone know what this is? It’s one eye and it seems to move around fine.

It looks like it's been pecked.

How many birds do you have? How old are they? What genders? How much space do they have? Do they have hiding places and a dust bath?

They’re about 5 1/2 weeks old, so I can’t tell genders yet. They do have a dust bath, but no hiding place and are in a wynola ranch 36in cage. There is 13 of them.

You have 13 quail in a about 6 square feet? Is that correct?

That's very overcrowded, so it's not surprising that you have some aggression. The general rule is at least one square foot per bird. Remember to subtract the space used by feeders, waterers, sand bath, and hiding places.
