I'm really green and looking at getting some birds. Both quail and a few chickens. I'm getting that you should not put quail/gamebirds with chickens due to potential disease concerns.
I'm thinking of separate coops on either side of a small 8x8 shed. How far apart do I need to keep 'em to avoid problems? Any advise is appreciated.

Make sure you keep a solid wall between them and that no droppings end up near their cage, also do not switch waterers and feeders between them. You need to use hand sanitizer between handling both species. It would be best to keep the quail elsewhere, but if that is all you have make sure there is no contact between them.
