I have thrown their feed out and the shavings. I'm going to tsc tonight and buying stuff for mites and get new food/bedding. I will treat the birds and bleach their houses. This is going to drive me crazy. Even if they are just grain mites I'm going to treat the birds anyway. Following all precautions. I will not be buying huge bags of feed again either...

Make sure you treat where ever the mites were too not just the birds. Not sure bleach eradicates them like the stuff kiki posted does. Good luck!

Just thought I'd update everyone..
After days of cleaning, bleaching and treating the birds I have fixed the problem. Turns out, the mites came from TSC.
When I got home, I examined the new small feed bag before i even got out of the car and they were on the outside of the bag, not heavily, but on the bag. I wiped the bag and tossed it in the freezer. Then mixed some DE in the feed. Still have the bag in the freezer.
Kind of considering not going back to TSC again. They may be just harmless tiny grain mites but I have OCD and things like that drive me insane. Everyday I'm running around with my flashlight, looking for mites. My husband thinks I'm a bit off my non existing rocker lol.
