Quail are FINALLY hatching on day 21!

Buster it sounds like those chicks are going to need a row boat after they hatch

How long does it take them to dry enough to go into the brooder when it is that humid in the bator ?
It seemed like mine would never dry off !

I know what you are saying. Mine took a while on the last hatch, especially when I asked DW to add water and she filled WAY too much. They were taking a few hours to get really dry and then she added all that extra water and 4 of them actually reversed and got more wet! I wound up taking the vent plug out and lifting the lid several times so the extra humidity would clear out. It wouldn't have been so bad had the extra water not been put in after they hatched.

I hatched 30 quail in the Sportsman before and they seemed to take no time at all to dry off, although they are the size of my thumb when they hatch.
