Quail Behavior

Hello!
My kindergarten class hatched quail this year and I’m taking 3 home.

One of the quail 5 weeks old came out last and just seemed slower than the rest. Its a girl and she has never stood up straight, opened her wings to try and fly, sleeps all the time, loves to be held and is so lazy her breast feathers are rubbing off.

Whne I google it says she is sick but she has been like this since day 2-3 out of the incubator.

Any feedback would be appreciated! My students are very hopeful she will live!

What are you feeding them?

It does sound like she's not well. In my experience, ones like this hatched with some sort of defect and they rarely live long.

They have Turkey game bird starter, meal worms, grit and a few fruits we just started introducing.

Turkey starter, 'good'.... meal worms and grit, 'bad' at this age! Turkey starter and clean water are the 2 most important things at this age.
What's the brooder or the area your keeping them in look like, how is it set up?
Sometimes when they hatch late they have problems, they may survive or 'failure to thrive'.
