I have my Coturnix in the dining room until I finish their cages tomorrow, they are not really flighty but when startled they are. My son came running in and started the tibetans and a hen jumped straight up and broke her neck, seized, and died. I hate when that happens, especially when its a hen

When I kept buttons it was an every day thing because they were so flighty but the Coturnix have been great, guess this stuff happens.

I told my son it wasnt his fault ( He's 4 and VERY upset ) and then he looks at me and says "daddy we dont have to eat her do we?" lol no son we dont have to lol

That sucks. Are some lines flightier than others? Mine hardly ever jump unless they're playing. Vaccuuming, dogs playing, tv, they dont really care, they're on the floor on the same level with the dogs and the dogs like to look in on them sometimes. They're not very strong fliers either, mine when let out of their cage only get about two feet off the ground.
