Quail brooder questions

When you study up on an unfamiliar subject it's easy to get overwhelmed with information overload but raising poultry is easy, especially quail.
The more complicated you make it, the easier it is for some superflubous detail to become a catastrophe and lose your birds.

Thanks everyone! The heat pad was stuck to the bottom in the middle so I just ignored it and didn't try to use it. We have a light set up and the temperature seems to be just right

The babies are doing cycles of eating, drinking and pooping then resting behind the cover on the warm side.

Is it normal for them to huddle/snooze in the warm corner? They get up regularly to eat and drink.

Yep. that's what quail do.

Aww. They're so cute. How many days old are they, just curious?

Also, it's normal for precocial birds to huddle/snooze like this. Their instincts tell them that the corner is their mom's breast. In the wild they would all crowd under their momma where it was warm and dry. <3

I'm in love. It seemed fine to me but I felt the need to ask someone was staring how there's are "constantly busy." Which in a way they are, but with cozy naps interspersed
