Quail brooder

Thank you very much for the detailed reply I hope it is a rosetta. Also, just a quick question Since you know a lot about quail genetics ( and google isn't helping me ) if I were to breed this baby when its older with my Italian or Manchurian what would their babies come out as. Would there be a mix of both or would the chicks be a combo
thanks
From what I know, and I only have my first Italians in the brooder now, Italian pattern is incompletely dominant. So If you cross a manchurian to them, all chicks will be Italian because manchurian is 2 copies of Italian. If you cross them to Italian half the offspring will be Italian. The colors will be determined separately by what the colors of the parents are. A Rosetta will have 1 copy of the range pattern I believe, and one copy of pharaoh, unless you also have silver and roux, which make things a bit more complex, because you can have a male with 2 copies of range, but they have one copy of Roux and one copy of Tibetan, so the birds would have less lacing but not look quite Tibetan, the colors can vary by gender and makeup of the parents. However since range, Italian, and silver are incompletely dominant, you will often find several generations of a mix in the flock, and it’s hard to determine what’s all in there. Sometimes really unexpected things pop up, sometimes biz as usual.
