What in the absolute F*CK is wrong with my quail. I've had quail for almost 10 years now, and I never had any big problems.
Now with my 4th batch of baby quail everything is going wrong. EVERYTHING.
Out of almost 30 that hatched I have now 6½ that are still alive. Yes you read that right, 6½. We had a storm this afternoon and it damaged the upper part of our quail coop, where the baby's live. Two of them managed to jump down to the big quail. When I noticed it was already too late. One didn't make it, it has been almost teared to shreds, and one was alive but the others destroyed one of its feet. It was just hanging by a bit of skin, so after a few minutes for the baby to calm down I decided to cut it of, wash and disinfect and wrap it up. The baby lost a lot of blood but was otherwise very active and alert. I would've culled otherwise, but for now I want to give it a chance. It's also pretty badly bruised on the other leg, but as far as I can judge it's not broken.
We don't have a vet who cares for quail/ small birds sadly. I've called 7 so far, there's no more left.
Does anyone know medicinal Plants that are safe for quail? I know a lot of plants for human, but I don't want to accidentally poison it. I need something for the bruises and maybe for overall strength after that shock and the blood loss.
Thank you all for your help

The best you can do is keep the wound clean and hope that it doesn't get infected. You can use antibacterial cream WITHOUT pain killers to help prevent infection.

This chick still might not make it, but only time will tell.

Reducing stress and preventing infection are your best options at this point, birds heal incredibly fast but quail are very sensitive to all sorts of substances. Natural does not equal safe (botulism and cyanide are both natural!). I like banamine in a variety of species for analgesia and binding up toxins but it is toxic in quail. Meloxicam might be an option but dosing is a huge issue. Better to let them heal on their own than poison them with drugs or natural products.
