Glad to meet you, and welcome to BYC. Folks in the Quail Forum are so helpful, you should get some good advice there. Best wishes with your little ailing quail. You were a good person to rescue it.

Quails come in many varieties so try to figure out if you have a coturnix quail (most commonly kept these days, I think, but not native to the US), or one of the other varieties, including native quails. Coturnix are charming birds, and you may want to get more of them. You can probably find somebody local selling on your local Craigslist, or I have had very good experiences getting eggs to incubate from Southwest Game Birds.
