Can you use a phone / flashlight or do you have to use a candler

I use my phone flashlight. Get a tiny bit of playdough/clay and make a holder around the light and it works fairly well

Did they hatch

Hopefully they will today, but I added some 2 days late so they will hatch on Wednesday I hope.

This is how bad they are at it. The male is standing guard, the female is sitting on the eggs. One isn’t even under her hahahaha

I candled 2 yesterday at 2 days of incubation and there were blood vessels in both. Woop! I wouldn't recommend candling at 2 days but I have hatched a lot of chicken eggs and knew what to look for. I didn't bother the other 21 eggs.

If she's stressed, she won't lay. If she's still being picked on, she's stressed.

How tall is her cage? You might need to put padding up if she keeps flushing up or separate the bully quail. Mine flushed while I was on a trip and hit their heads so much they drew blood. It has horrible because the person watching them was scared of birds so they couldn't help. Now the bully was removed (a male we thought was a female) and padding has been installed.
