Quail dead problem

My quails died at back yard, head got ripped off, located in Tasmania. not sure if this is catabolism

The bars on the enclosure are far too large. Very likely a predator tried to get the entire quail and was only able to pull off it's head.

That's a predator attack. Quail will peck at the head, but they won't take the head off.

The predator will be back. Please do something to protect your remaining quail. E.g., cover the cage in 1/2 inch hard wire cloth or bring the quail inside until you have a safe enclosure for them.

probably a cat? Does tasmania have foxes? I was actually surprised to hear that sydney had foxes, never saw one growing up, lol.
