I'm just curious to see if anyone has any experience with using their bird waste as a fertilizer, or if anyone knows the best way to process their waste, other than just dumping it in the trash?

Quail poop needs composting just like chicken manure before use in the garden, otherwise, as it decomposes in your garden it will produce enough heat to damage your plants. I think duck manure is the only one that can be used fresh without a risk of burning your plants.

This was quite a good site about different ways you can compost: https://www.google.com/url?q=http:/...BAVgQFggTMAI&usg=AOvVaw2ciu-5WWibDSuXDwU-nwP_

Thank you. My birds often poop in their water dishes, and I've been pouring the poop water on our flowers. They're blooming like crazy now!

A little won't hurt (as you've discovered to your plants benefit). I did like the idea of making 'poop tea' from that article too. Much faster than piling it up and waiting a year for it to break down.

Poop tea or water with just a little bit of poop, has been diluted enough that you could pour it on the ground of a nearby plant. What people usually mean by not using something hot and fresh is, for example, when you clean the bottom tray of a quail pen and you take all that stuff and just toss it in one big pile at the base of a rose bush, thinking that it will help the flowers. That could hurt the bush instead.
