I am just getting set up to raise a few quail in my back yard. I was just wondering where people get quail egg cartons? I've seen some plastic ones on eggcartons.com but they are like 50 cents a piece which seems kind of steep. Is this about the going rate? Thanks for the help!

Initially, I wanted to purchase some egg cartons as well, but what I have done is ask friends and neighbors to not discard their egg cartons, as I would need a few. I found that I could safely put 18 quail eggs into a regular chicken egg carton. For those who donated more than a couple cartons, I would thank them and give them an egg carton full of quail eggs.

Thanks for your reply James. Regular egg cartons would be great, except I think I have lined up a store to carry my eggs so I need actual quail egg sized cartons. They are so spendy!!

Sorry about that; had I been informed with all of the facts, I may have been able to better answer your question. This sponsor of BYC "normally" has cartons for quail eggs, but it appears they are out of stock. I also looked at this sponsors site, and they don't even carry cartons for quail eggs (I just sent them an e-mail asking them why "the egg carton store" doesn't carry quail egg cartons).
Welcome to the quail forum on BYC,
James

Thanks for the help James! I guess I might have to bite the bullet and just order off of eggcartons.com. I actually don't even have the quail yet. I have no idea what I'm doing.....so any advice you want to pass along would be greatly appreciated.

I did receive a reply from the egg carton store and they said that they could not find a reliable source for quail egg cartons.
Just my honest opinion, but I would wait to make sure that I was able to produce a minimum of 2 dozen eggs per day before I got into any agreements.
