I built my own bator and put quail eggs in them. My friend that I got them from does not know if they were a day old or four days old. He first told me they were a day. This is suppose to be day 18. I had planned to turn the turner off on day 21. I came home today to find one hatched and crushed by the turner. I removed it and noticed two other eggs with open and can see the birds inside. I can see one moving but the other one is not. I disconnected the bottom ow of the turner so that no more are crushed. The humidity is at 60%. The temp has remained 99-100 the entire time. I don't know what I am suppose to be doing now. If the eggs are days apart and some hatch do I go ahead and remove them? I am afraid that I have already messed up removing dead chick....

I'm nervous that I may have hurt them by opening the incubator so close to that time. I work late tonight so I will not be able to check on them. How long do you wait to put them in the brooderand do you dip their beak like a chicken in water to teach them to drink?

you should be fine with opening the incubator; if you have a bantam chick, that is what i use to get them started eating and drinking. if you dont then yes, dip their beaks in the feed and water. put some marbles in the water to keep them from drowning.

if you have to keep opening the incubator, mist the eggs lightly with warm water before you close it to help with humidity. after hatching they will be fine for a couple of days in the incubator.

The humidity is between 53 and 59%. It has been three days since they started piping. I can see the birds inside a couple and I can see the fur of one sticking out of shell. I think I am overthinking it. It's nerve racking.

first you need to stay came and you can put them in the brooder anytime as long as it is warmed up for them you can dip there beak in the water when they are fluffet up 3 days is a while but once one hatches it will trigger the rest can you see movement yest then you should be fine how many quail eggs do you have and pics would be good and relax
