quail eggs are hatching. need HELP. first time.

Nothing has changed in the incubator, but now this one has stopped moving. The majority of the egss have not started piping yet. This makes two that have started opening the shell and then died.

Lots of people seem to be posting about bad quail hatching so what your saying is they pip then die and the rest are moving but not pipping huh maybe you should assist hatch one and it migth trigger the others to hatch

What is best way to do that?

so if there is a egg that has piped and is still alive take the egg out and get a damp warmish towel put it on it.
if you have no pips take an egg and candele it and see if it has internally piped and if she has tapp the egg and she if she respones is she does thats great and now get your penil and mark the air cell and make a tiny hole above that where she can breath tell me if you have done that i will try to get sally sunshine to help she is very good.

I guess you just keep reheating the damp towel?

There are about 25 that have not started piping. I tried to candle them about ten days in but the shells are either too dark or thick. It's day twenty so I want to leave those alone for now.

There are two that have long cracks that are oozing. Whar does that mean?

He has cournix and bob whites. Prob mix of eggs.

well bobwhite can take 23 -24 days to hatch so maybe the ones that piped and died they where possible cournix so you could still have baby qails and if there mixed they migth hatch somewhere between day 18 and 25
