Yup! I know what you mean. I've listened to them online but you never know how the microphones are set up or if they've adjusted things. They sure are cute birds! Ah well, I really don't have space to keep chickies and quail separate to the level I'd want. So, I'll stick with my quail for now.

Crazy morning, woke up to quail hollering, thought they were hungry, went to ck on them and they were all soaked! Somehow one of the quail waters got tilted so all the water poured out into the brooder (a big plastic tote from wal-mart). I got them all cleaned up and dry pretty quickly but 3 died of shock after the fact. This all happened at 530 this morning. So far no more have died and they all look and act almost normal again. they are eating and drinking and crowing... Down to 22 from 25. Hopefully we wont loose anymore.

So we ended up loosing only 5 babies from the "flood". Thats 20% but we still have 21 going strong, so thats not bad. I am counting on these being my mostly female batch since I know the older ones are mostly males already.
