I need any ideas on a homemade quail tray. Im getting a little over 100 eggs a day and I have filled up all my plastic blue trays. I have some paper ones but they tend to bend in the middle and the eggs fall out during my daily rotation. I have the foam type from where I ordered eggs off the internet but they would really flimsy. I thought about putting those on a board and then turnig the board each day but then there is the air circulation issue. I thought I had a great idea. I bought a large air filter that goes in a house air conditioning vent but they wont sit in there good when I rotate it. Anybody have any ideas on storing my eggs til they are ready for the incubator?

I have a lot of the plastic egg cartons too but they dont hold enough eggs. I would have them everywhere if I tried to use them.

Got any hardware cloth laying around ? Could you make a shallow box with the wire bottom to set them in. Then you could just tilt the whole box. Just an idea.

What type of quail are they? I use the paper chukar trays for my coturnix's eggs, they hold 50 eggs. They are not that flimsy for me, you could always cut the trays in half so the weight is more even.
