Quail eggs

I have been building some roll out laying pens hope to be picking some eggs up for the bator, anybody who keeps quail for eggs when do you cull the laying hens for new girls is it at a certain age or when their production falls off. I got snowed in last weekend I started reading all the past posts some intresting reading watching how different folks started out and the problems they had and how they fixed / overcame them . a lot of the universities have some really good info I have been reading a lot of that too. thanks for such a great site

The max layer rate on coturnix quail is from about 4-6 mos of age through the 2nd yr of life, but many will continue to produce a decent number of eggs throughout their life cycle. i had a dinosaur coturnix hen that passed a few months ago--- she was 8 yrs old and still averaged 3 eggs a week.
