quail eggs

just got my first 2 coturnix eggs and they are on the little side. was wondering do they get bigger as the quail gets older like a chicken does or do they stay just about the same size?

Yes! Some of the first eggs may be misshaped, small or even lacking a yoke! After a few weeks you will notice they become more uniform size and shape.

ok thanks mine so far look pretty normal shaped but only weigh 8 grams. hope to at least to get as big as 10 grams or greater. i want to keep the bigger eggs to produce bigger birds.

Give it a lil time... I would wait 2 months or so til ya know the roo is doin his job...

yeah i dont think the roo is doing his job yet he just chases the girls around the cage pecking at there sides to get them to stop but they just keep running away. also cracked open the eggs and see that it has a white dot in the yolk but isnt wide looking but more like a pen dot. pen dot means not fertile and wider dot means fertile right?
