o.k. this is my first hatch. and i took the turner out of my incubator this afternoon.while handling the eggs i noticed that they seemed to weigh less now than when i put them in 15 days ago. is this normal?and i think i heard one peep while i was moving them around this is so exciting.

Eggs normally lose about 1/5 of their weight during incubation. I would try to reduce the humidity to around 60%. Quail don't need humidity quite as high as other fowl. Ducks and geese need it the highest. Good luck!

I never found that humidity being too high was a problem for button quail.. I do not know what kind you have,,

I have hatched quail in the same bator as geese, turkey, chicken and guinea..
sometimes the humidity was over 90%

the humidity in the bator is just maintained to keep the egg from losing all of it's humidity from within..
