Hi Everyone
For the past seven days I have been incubating 88 Rain Quail Eggs
. I have not been having much luck with the temperature control, and I thought all hope was lost. But I have found development in the embryos
.
When I went to check and turn the eggs, one of them fell out and cracked
, so I decided to do an autopsy (felt a bit like CSI)
.
I had heard of people floating eggs to test them, and this egg had not cracked open, it was just a hairline crack
. So I floated it and the results were amazing, the egg floated with the big end just above the water (I believe this is were it is meant to be).
I then cracked open the egg and this is what I found. A 7 day old embryo which looks exactly like it should on day 7, so maybe there is hope?
(Sorry about the unclear pics, it is with my phone)
Here is a picture of someone else's 7 day old embryo for comparison.
Close up of 7 day old embryo development.
If anyone else has pictures to add to this thread to help with comparison that would be great. What do you guys think?
Thanks
Neb
