My chick is about 7 weeks and I’m not sure what this is, tried to get it off and it seems connected. It’s white and pretty long, looks like it’s coming from the corner of the eye and a little bit under the eyelid. Eye looks enflamed but she seems fine otherwise. I’m super concerned :( if anyone knows anything about this I’d love any information.

I'm not totally sure,, but to me it looks like a scarred outer eye membrane. It may have resulted from another chicken accidently scratching, or a mystery scratching on a bush branch. :idunno
I would not try to remove that string like thing. Let it fall off on its own, when healing occurs.

I would flush the eye with saline or an eye wash at least twice a day, then try to clean the white gently with a QTip. Then put a small dab or either plain neosporin or Terramycin ointment into the eye. Perhaps the eye was pecked or injured causing the third eye lid to become infected. Look into the eye for any debris caught in there.

Ok I’ll have to try this thank you!
