Quail eyes

I saw the statement below in another thread. Is this true for quail too?

"The left eye of chickens is more near sighted while the right one is more for seeing far off."

Avian ophthalmology, now there is a profession, I would assume if it is true for chickens it is true for all gallinaceous birds. Now how to get them to use an eye chart…?

Now that I've been watching them for a while, I've noticed that when they look up at me, they do so by cocking their heads sideways and looking at me with their right eye. I'm usually about 3 feet away when they do that.
