quail feed for chicks?

I'm unable to find any gamebird chick feed where I live. I've been feeding them the crumbles @ 20% protein. I was wondering if I supplemented the feed with mealworms if that would be okay? The mealworms are 50% protein. Would I need to provide grit for them if I used the mealworms and crumbles?

20% protein food will work if you add things like mealworms and hard boiled eggs. I have had hard times finding quail food out here in the past and have added both of these with no ill effects.
