Can I use Broiler starter for my chicks until 8 weeks of age, because we don't have any game bird starter feeds here.?

*The Broiler starter is not medicated*

How much percent protein has it got?

On another note my incubator will be dilating soon, think I am at the 11day stage mark; and I still haven't been able to buy the game bird feed of 24% that I wanted...

Was told that they were getting it in but it wasnt in (they got it mixed up with the turdky label) so I had to do a special order...

Should I start sprouting parrot seed mix for my babies to supplement the 18% chick feed that I have until I get the 24% bag

at my TSC they have Dumors 24%- fine for our younger chickens.

but at Alachua lumber and Feed, they have both FRM Game Bird Starter 28% protein and the Purina GBS 30% protein, I am alternating, grinding it for the Quail chicks for a few days, cause I have the garage work space for the processor.

end result, you have to give them the best ya got in your neck of the woods, their metabolism is so fast, they use all the raw materials they can get.

keep looking, hunt for that 28-30%, go to the FRM and Purina websites, punch in your zipcodes, and good luck!

The broiler starter has 20% protein, and it is the highest % protein for a starter in our country to.

Postage from the USA to Australia is very costly... :p ...

the only breed I can select from the purina - Australia is "cat" ...

time to go and put ice on my polar bear ...

If I can't get my feed in time it looks like seed sprouting will have cover my initial feed... Maybe a can of tuna/babyfood/ canned meat?...

MEK CAN Y'ALL GET SOYBEAN MEAL DOWN THERE? IF SO IT'S ROUGHLY 48-50% PROTIEN AND CAN BE USED TO UP THE PROTIEN CONTENT OF OTHER POULTRY FEEDS. STILL WONT BE "COMPLETE" NUTRITION BUT IT'S BETTER THAN NOTHING

Would it be good to feed Coturnix the highest protein Weetabix cereal, cat food, mealworms, table scraps and such? Haven't EVER had any bird before so just wondering if that would be a good diet for them.
