I'm just wondering how much you pay for feed.
The pet shop where I got my females sells a pound for .60$.
Another shop that sells in bulk for big farms sells a pound for less than .25$ which is a great price! I just got 60lbs from him.
Btw, this is a special feed for egg laying. There's another type for 'finishing'.
I'm also raising small worms as a treat for my quail.
So how much do you pay?

Just make sure that the protein is about 24% or greater. Gamebirds need more protein than the average chicken feed most stores sell. Most chick starter is only 20% protein.
We buy our feed at the Tractor Supply for $17.50 a bag. 24% Dumor chick starter. I feed this throughout their lives. I used to buy Purina gamebird chow, but it was $20 a bag for 30% protein.
