Quail feed

I have baby coturnix and bobwhite quail. They have been on chick starter since they were hatched. They seem to be eating it up. Is the chick starter okay to feed them. And when it comes time to switch there food can I use lay crumble that I feed my chickens. Or should I use gamebird food. They have gambled starter that is 30 percent protein the chick starter is 20 percent protein

You should not be feeding quail chicks chicken chick starter. They need much higher protein, so you should be getting the game bird starter for them.

Gamebird starter, quail need highest protein you can get for chicks higher than chicken starter, when time to transition you can wean them off starter and onto chicken/turkey feed, layer crumbles but I prefer gamebird ration with an added calcium supplement..
