Quail feed

Hello!! OK, so I have a chance to take on some Egyptian quail...I am not sure what kind of food to feed them...can they eat the same as the food I feed my chickens and ducks? High protein, soy free from Augusta supply....any help would be great!! Thanks!

Maybe I have been hiding under the quail rock, but I have never heard of Egyptian quail before!! LOL

But, be that as it may, you will need to feed them gamebird food. Something with a protein level of 24% to 28%. Chicken feed does not have enough protein to keep quail healthy.

Protein of 24% or higher. Your Egyptian are Coturnix Quail, also called Pharoah Quail. All the same bird just a different name.

Ah...Pharoah Quail...I have never heard them called Egyptian quail, at least not out here.

I feed mine gamebird crumbles mixed with extra blood and bone powder.
They grow fast, the high protien is vital.
You cant feed them the medicated chick crumbles either.
These are lovely birds, and they lay like crazy!
